HERE'S HOW:

Catalog:

Here you have 3 selections: National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Training Materials, Family Disability Resource Center, and All.  You have the option of searching materials from us, the Family Disability Resource Center, or both.

The Family Disability Resource Center is here at Utah State University in the Center for Persons with Disabilities.  The Family Disability Resource Library (FRL) is a partner library to NCRTM.  Items listed by the FRL can be checked out by visiting their website at

http://sites.cpd.usu.edu/frl//. They can also be contacted with questions regarding their materials via: Phone: (866) 284-2821 or Email: FRL@cpd2.usu.edu.

Search for:

This is where you type in keywords, titles or catalog numbers pertaining to the item you are in search of. The less words you type, the better.  Be careful, catalog numbers may be case sensitive! (Note: When searching for a catalog numbers with ending letters do not include the last letter, i.e. for V645.058B, type "V645.058" and select "Search by: numbers".)  To see all videos, type "V", select search by "numbers" and hit "Search Now".

Exact Words:

Check this box if you are looking for one specific item only.  It is NOT recommended to check the box if you are doing a general search and want to see multiple items.

Search By:

This drop down list currently gives you 4 choices: keywords, authors, titles and numbers (there are currently no journals in library).  After you type what you are looking for in the "Search for" box, make the appropriate selection in this drop down menu. NOTE: subject headings were not entered in this library, but are some good words to use in a "keyword" search-See below.

What do the catalog numbers mean?

Every item in the library has a 6 digit catalog number.  The first three digits correspond to a subject heading list provided to us by the previous NCRTM at Oklahoma State University.  The last three digits are arbitrary.  If an item is a type of media, it has been divided into two categories: video and audio.  These items are noted with an "A" or a "V" preceding their 6 digit number.

**Any item that does not follow this number system belongs to the Family Resource Library. See above for access information.

Material Type:

It is recommended to leave this drop down menu on "ALL".  In our library, we do not have all the types of  materials listed in this drop down menu.  It is possible for materials to be ordered in formats other than what may be listed in the digital library.

Selections that may be useful besides "all" are: text, A/V, Audio, and videocassette.
